Federalism and Political Competition in Emerging Democracies

Abstract

The Article focuses on the relation between federalism and political competition in emerging democracies across the world. It further aims to develop a theory of political competition in federal system based on formal game theory model by Roger B. Myerson. It concludes by applying the model to post-apartheid South African political system, controlled by a single political party.
