Goliath Lost

Abstract
The Executive Order to Restore Truth and Sanity to America’s museums and cultural institutions is an attempt to revise American history. These directives initiate the eliminations and removal of dissenting and alternative perspectives relating to the Indigenous and Black American journey in this country. The focus on American exceptionalism requires the presentation of single narrative that eschews the darkest corners of our shared history and continues the tradition of white supremacy. Information professionals are expected to be complicit in creating this false narrative and omit and remove historical events and records that represent divisive ideology. As this Administration seeks to interject Christian Nationalism onto every aspect of American life, the tenets of information management are challenged. Under this Executive Order information professionals are purveyors of false narratives and propaganda. The voice and perspective of the oppressed and marginalized are representative of the unique story of America, and their removal will expose the true source of American exceptionalism.
