Abstract
This Article holds that the merchant rules impose a modest burden on some individuals engaged in commercial activity; that the application of the burden must abide a determination that such commercial activity is involved; and that good sense and Code policy are best served by extending the definition of “merchant,” and its concomitant rules of commercial activity, to a broad range of persons and situations.
