Abstract
The article presents the author's second annual Holocaust Remembrance Lecture at the Washington University in Missouri, which looks into the phenomenon of fidelity to Jewish law and morality during the Holocaust. It highlights the published responsa of Rabbi Ephraim Oshry which provides a documentary insight into the attitudes of individuals who hold firmly to their religious and ethical principles. The efforts of Jewish communities during the Nazi invasion are discussed.
